Arsenal hits 6 with Everton return 1 as consolation
What an amazing start for Arsenal. With few of their key midfielder outlined, Nasri, Rosicky and Walcott, Wenger put in Bendner covering the missing spot in midfield and it turn out a master piece for Arsenal. Debutant Vermaelen played a good game with a goal scored by a powerful header from freekick. Everton used their usual lineup from last season with Jo renew the loan contract for another season from Man City. 3 goals scored from each half by Arsenal with Denilson curls in a top corner strike from far range, Vermaelen hit a powerful header from freekick and Gallas also head in 1 from Fabregas freekick. Fabregas starts off the 2nd half with an early goals in 2nd min of the half and add on another with a far range attempt into bottom left of the net, substitute Eduardo finish off with a rebound from Arshavin which hits the post into the open net at 88th min and Everton substitute Saha get a consolation in the injury time.
From the results, it look like Arsenal is ready to face off Celtic in the Champion League playoff in the coming and following mid week and Wenger already send a message to their EPL rivals that his young team are capable of winning matches. No wonder, Arsene Wenger has declared his team will not settles for the 4th place this season, and are preparing to put on pressure into the EPL title race. With this shameful defeat in the opening match, think Lescott will be more firm in getting a move to Man City before transfer market closed.
