Europa League Update
What a dramatic night of Europa League, where we saw 15 players send off in 12 matches. There was 5 matches with 2 players see red, while the most chaotic match award goes to Villareal vs Lazio, where 1 players from each side was being send off, and referee total gave out 8 yellow card, 2 red card and award 3 penalty in different occasion.
List of player who got send off
L.Cufre (Dinamo Zagreb), A.D.Calello (Dinamo Zagreb), Z.Senkerik (Slavia Prague), R.Baraja (Valencia), E.Nevland (Fulham), P.Konchesky (Fulham), O.N’Doye (Dinamo Bucuresti), G.Sarmov (Levski Sofia), R.Baronio (Lazio), J.G.Rodriguez (Villareal), I.Shitov (BATE Borisov), M.Krstajic (Partizan Belgrade), G.Muresan (CFR Cluj), I.B.Mara (CFR Cluj), N.Pinto (Nacional)
Unlike Champion League holder Barcelona who struggling in its group phrase, Uefa Cup holder Shakhtar Donetsk had already qualified for the next group phrase with 2 matches remaining by their superior form of 4 out of 4 win and each win is won with at least 2 goals. SV Salzburg is the only other team who has all 4 win from 4 matches at group G. Galatasaray from group F and Werder Bremen from group L also secure their place in the last 32 too.
Several player shared the placing to be Europa League topscorer, A.Frei(FC Basel), C.Pizarro(Werder Bremen), F.Llorente(Athletic Bilbao, O.R.Cardozo(Benfica), Y.K.Gervinho(Lille) and I.Perisic(Club Brugge), all bagged 4 goalsl each.
Although Shakhtar Donetsk form in Europe remains to be great, but my favourite to win the Europa League shall go to 1 of the Champion League dropouts, as we will be expecting few really strong candidate coming such as Bayern Munich and Liverpool or even might have either Real Madrid or AC Milan and either Barcelona or Inter Milan too.
