Man City end of July 09 update
IN

So far Man City has changed half of their first team player with spending near 100million pound getting in 6 people since June. The 6 players are Adebayor from Arsenal, Santa Cruz from Blackburn, Tevez from Man Utd, Toure from Arsenal, Barry from Aston Villa and Taylor from Aston Villa. Their summer purchase are not stopping till the end of transfer market as they are busy bidding on Everton’s Lescott with latest 22million pound bid since the previous 16 and 18 million pound bid got rejected. Although they say they are still hunting for a left side center back as last signing but rumour still link them with Veloso and Maicon. They will also link to target which other club interested to steal the target or bring up the price too.
OUT

So far they got 7 players offload to other club since transfer market opened. Out of the 7 players, 4 is out on loan which are Jo to Everton, Hart to Birmingham, Bojinov to Parma and Caicedo to Sporting, while the 3 sold are Fernande to St Etienne, Elano to Galatasaray and Evans to Sheffield United. They managed to recoup 13million pound from it, roughly 1/7 of what they spented this summer so far. More players are likely to leave the club, with Benjani attracts Hull and Stoke, Petrov attracts Spurs, Johnson attacts Aston Villa and Onuoha attracts Everton.
Conclusion
It good that they cut down the size of their squad to reduce unnecessary wages and costs. They can use the money from players sold to fund for better players for the squad. Guess they will still buy in few more players to strength the squad before market close. It impossible to aim for immediate success, so a more realistic target would be challenge for top 4 with main aim secure Europa League spot at least. Its might take them few years to build up teamwork and better squad before they really up to standard to challenge the Title.
From their current player to choose from, i guess their starting lineup could be Given as goalkeeper, Zabaleta, Dunne, Toure and Bridge as back 4, Robinho and Phillips as wing, Ireland and Barry hold center mid, Tevez and Adebayor as targetman. Its good that they got on par first team lineup player as backup to replace if any out of form or injury and big squad enough to rotate play to recover from matches.
